An Analysis of Pollution in Cities

A vital element of a thriving city is a healthy environment. Many elements can impact its health, and are often invisible and overlooked. The main source of damage is pollution and these pollutants come in many forms but we will focus noise pollution and its spread. The impact of noise pollution is devastating to city and its population.This visulisations will aim to demonstrate the impact of noise pollution on a city in its different forms.

With climate change and environmental issues at the forefront of policy making and the media, we will look at the ways that pollution impact cities and its population. These visualisations will aim to demonstrate the impact of noise pollution on a city in its different forms. Some of the consequences of Pollution are Dimentia,Alzheimer's, Cancer, Mental health issues,Premature death, Lose of ecosystems and Increased costs to city

Noise Pollution

Noise can be defined as any unwanted sound, the excessive presence of which can adversely affect one’s health, wellbeing, productivity and natural environment. this visualisation includes Day vs night Comparison of Road/rail/Air traffic noise levels in a specific ward/whole of London for 2012 or 2019,2012 vs 2019 Comparison of Road and Rail noise levels in a specific ward/whole of London, Decibels of road/rail/aircraft noise a selected ward in London is exposed to and Population density per ward impacted by the road/rail/aircraft noise.
